Missourians successfully voted to adopt Amendment 2 on November 3, 2018, which legalizes the cultivation, processing, sale and possession of medical marijuana for qualifying conditions. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has issued guidance and a timeline for the licensing and implementation of the medical marijuana dispensary by January 1, 2020. The DHSS has outlined the following milestone.

January 1, 2019 – The DHSS will accept marijuana license fees for cultivation, manufacturing, testing, transportation, seed-to-sale, or dispensing facility licenses

Cultivation Facilities require a $10,000 non-refundable application fee and a $25,000 annual fee.

Dispensary Facilities require a $6,000 non-refundable application fee and a $10,000 annual fee.

Medical marijuana-infused manufacturing facilities require a $6,000 non-refundable application fee and a $10,000 annual fee.

July 4, 2019 – Application forms available for qualifying patients and primary caregivers, and online acceptance.

August 3, 2019 – The DHSS will accept applications for cultivation, manufacturing, testing, transportation, seed-to-sale, or dispensing facility licenses, and approval will be provided within 150 days of receipt

January 2020 – Medical marijuana will be available for sale
